A Bit About Me

I’m an Occupational Therapist with a long-standing passion for supporting children, adults, and families to thrive in everyday life. My career began in 1998 in Adult Services and later Children’s Services, and I went on to work within the education system as Team Lead Occupational Therapist at Ysgol y Deri Special School. Throughout my journey, working alongside families has always been at the heart of what I do.

In 2018, I moved into private practice as an Occupational Therapist and Case Manager, specialising in supporting children with brain injuries and their families. I continue to work therapeutically with children, young people, and adults, particularly those who have experienced developmental trauma, attachment difficulties, or sensory processing challenges that impact their ability to engage in daily activities.

My work is grounded in Sensory Integration and Sensory Attachment–based interventions, with a strong emphasis on understanding each person as a whole. I believe it is essential that key adults feel empowered to understand their own sensory differences and nervous systems, so they are best placed to model self-care, self-compassion, and regulation for the children around them.

Alongside my occupational therapy training, I have a deep interest in nature and holistic wellbeing. I trained as a Reiki Master Teacher several years ago, and am currently training to become a Yoga teacher. I use these skills, alongside the underlying philosophy, to support balance, self-regulation, and a sense of calm within everyday situations in my own life, and in my therapeutic sessions. Whenever possible, I bring nature and gentle, grounding approaches into my work, including my ongoing learning as a student Forest Bathing Practitioner, as I believe these can be incredibly powerful in supporting regulation, connection, and healing.

Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, travelling, and being outdoors. I enjoy learning and finding new ways to integrate and develop my practice—and I’m rarely without a book (or three) close by.

My experience and shared values led me to co-found Mind In2 Action with my colleague Kelly Lewis. Together, we developed an evidence-based programme that brings together occupational therapy, psychology, and holistic wellbeing approaches. Our aim is to empower adults to better understand their nervous system, develop realistic and practical strategies to support their mental and physical wellbeing, and move forward with greater confidence and hope for the future.
